How well is it working?

A few days ago I wrote a blog about the virtues of virtual working and how it is becoming a burning issue on many an executive floor. I stressed its time and cost saving qualities and how easy it is to implement it given the available IT infrastructure.

In retrospect it seems to me that I dealt with the human element a little too lightly, too matter-of-factly perhaps. After all, communication among human beings is a highly complex process which can spin out of control at the worst possible moments. It is far easier to make a technical process work flawlessly.

Yet, there are ways and means to avoid breakdowns due to human failure, which in the worst case may eben amount to sabotage, by implementing some of the tips Dr. Deasún Ó Cochúir will offer in his workshop at the Project Management Talk Day in Zurich/Switzerland on November 16, 2011, which  is organized by Digicomp and dedicated to expert presentations and round-table discussions about project management in the 21st century.

I’m sure that many of our readers would b interested to read what sort of experience others made with Virtual Working, what they considered to be the highest hurdle, on the hardware and humanware side and how long it took them to reach a decently or perfectly working stage.

We invite you to share your impressions with our readers.
